Residential Support Worker (Children's Home)

Location: Devon, TQ13

Salary range: Very competitive, DOE

I am currently recruiting for a newly opened children's home based in Devon.

They are passionate in providing accommodation and conditions for growth, in a stable environment for young people with in their care.



The Role:

The ideal candidate will be someone who has already worked in a Children's residential care service setting.

You will play a full and effective role as a member of the team providing high-quality assessment for short- or long-term support for young people aged between 12 - 17 who need support with their learning difficulties and may present emotional and/or challenging behaviours.

Duties:

? Assist the Senior Residential Support Worker and other senior managers in operating processes within the young person's Home, which reflect the organisations, aims, objectives, and philosophies.
? You will provide advice, assistance, and support to young people, attending to their practical and emotional needs,
? Act as an appropriate role model and work closely with them to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.
? Provide a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment in which children/young people can feel secure and free from harm.
? To act as a key worker or co-worker for a young person to ensure that the young person's care plans are up to date and that all their care needs are being met.
? Ensure that each young person's care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs.
? Empower young people and facilitate their active involvement in the decision making about their lives and future.
? Encourage the young person to develop links with the community, attend off-site activities and expand their social network.


Requirements:

? Previous experience in a similar role
? Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce (Childrens Social Care
