Locality Social Worker

A South Wales Local Authority are looking to recruit an Experienced Locality Social Worker.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the service which puts the individual at the heart of their work.

The teams work from a strengths-based (Signs of Safety) approach to meet the needs of young people and their families.

They have a diverse variety of casework, individual, dedicated and regular senior management support alongside progression opportunities for the successful candidates.
The successful candidates must have robust safeguarding, child protection experience and be confident with court proceedings.

Due to the nature of the role candidates must have front line post qualifying experience in child protection services.

A degree in Social Work is essential for this role, as well as excellent skills in assessment and the ability to write concise records and reports.

You will be a good team player, have excellent communication, organisation skills and IT skills.

They also have Grade 7 Social Worker positions in the Locality team
What is offered to you as an Experienced Locality Social Worker:

Your responsibilities as an Experienced Locality Social Worker:

To work independently of direct support e.g.

attendance at court, child protection case conferences without the presence of a team manager.
To undertake complex and high-risk cases or arrange complex or high value packages of care.
To work with individuals, families, carer groups and communities to help them make informed decisions, enabling them to clarify and express their needs and contribute to service planning.
To assess, identify, plan, implement and review the circumstances of individuals and their families and the need for procedural and legal intervention to meet their immediate needs.
To contribute to team meetings, service development days and training as appropriate

Requirements of you as an Experienced Locality Social Worker:

Have a relevant professional qualification in Social Work.
Registration with the Care Council for Wales or equivalent.
Must hold UK driver’s licence.

Salary scale: up to £40,478 d.o.e + £5000 market supplement payment
