Repairs/maintenance apprenticeship x 4 inc electrical; gas engineering; plumbing; joinery.
Assisting fully trained electricians on day -to- day activities including maintenance, repairs and installation of electrical systems;
Carrying out the installation of new and refurbished electrical systems, using a full range of installation materials and techniques;
Performing routine checking and testing of all types of electrical systems, including the location and repair of faults.
Training:
Most of the training will take place at work under the supervision of a qualified electrician with time also spent with a local college/training provider developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours for the electrical apprenticeship standard.
Training Outcome:
This is a fixed-term contract, lasting up to 48 months for the duration of the practical training plus up to 6 months for the end-point assessment period.
While there is no guarantee of a permanent job with the City Council at the end of this apprenticeship, we have a good record of retaining apprentices. Apprentices will be qualified electricians and well-placed to gain employment elsewhere.
