Sports Coach Apprenticeship

To promote the school and provide opportunities for pupils to try new sports, attend and participate in sporting events, holiday clubs, tournaments and fixtures To deliver PE lessons to classes of children which adhere to the aims of the national curriculum for physical education To enable children to develop knowledge, skills and vocabulary in a broad range of sporting activities, as well as developing values and transferrable life skills such as tolerance, fairness and respect To assess pupil progression/attainment from Reception to Year 6 against the skills needed to meet the end of Key Stage objectives in the National Curriculum To work collaboratively with colleagues, wider community and sporting organisations to plan, develop and organise a programme of inter-school and intra-school competitions to raise the profile of PE and give children the opportunity to try new sports To work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver a programme of after-school and support holiday sports clubs throughout the year

Training:
Sports Coach Level 4 (Higher national certificate) Apprenticeship Standard 100% workplace delivery, with scheduled online tutorials

PE Coach position in a school / a teaching career

We have been involved in supporting other schools within Somerset and again, this provides professional development opportunities for many of our staff. We are especially proud of our variety sporting achievements which you can read about in our newsletters on our website. We believe that there’s no career quite like teaching.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday (term-time only) plus holiday clubs if desired. Shifts to be confirmed.
