Non-Destructive Testing Apprentice

Working alongside qualified NDT technicians, the apprecentice will learn both practical and theoretical skills to gain knowledge of various NDT methods Become trained and certified to operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks Liaise with and report to the Laboratory Manager / Supervisor as necessary to ensure NDT is carried out to the requirements of the Customer, Third Party Accreditation and the company business system Liaise with other NDT technicians to ensure that the laboratory workflow system is strictly followed Assist the Laboratory Manager / Supervisor in ensuring that all equipment control checks are undertaken in accordance with company calibration procedures Achieve the Qualifications, Training and Experience required to become an NDT Technician Complete a Log/Note Book of inspections carried out which shall be retained for future reference Complete all the requirements of the apprenticeship scheme Including remote theory sessions performed and organised formal training and exams at Lavender International training centre in Penistone

Training:

This apprenticeship programme is designed to gain skills and technical expertise to become a certified NDT Operator in three NDT Methods. This includes health and safety training, 1-to-1 mentoring, seminars, practical work experience sessions, and on-the-job training.

The candidates will keep records of their learning and experience throughout the programme and create an improvement plan. 

On successful completion of the apprenticeship scheme, further PCN qualifications may be gained. 

Qualifications include:

Internationally recognised certification in Level 2 NDT methods Non - Destructive Technologies Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard

Training Outcome:
On completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice would be able to progress into the role of an NDT Technician This then opens up a vast array of different career opportunities in more advanced practical or technical roles

Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 4.30pm and Friday, 8.00am - 3.30pm.
