We are looking for a talented Quantity Surveyor to work for our client.

Salary: £40,000 to £45,000

The Role:
As the Quantity Surveyor you will be primarily responsible to submit applications for payment and issue VAT invoices where applicable

In the job you'll be tasked with the following:

Liaise with the estimator to price variations and reach agreement with the contractor.
Carry out detailed remeasures from drawings.
Schedule firestopping works from weekly records (training can be given).
Supervise / train / mentor a junior surveyor.
Pursue clients for outstanding payments and administer contractual rights where necessary.
Prepare necessary contractual notices and client correspondence.
Secure release of retention.
Review subcontract orders.
Alert colleagues of project risks and assist with avoiding or managing the risks.
Assist with internal monthly reporting on projects.
Ensure adequate as-built records are maintained to comply with legislation and company accreditation, and to secure payment.
Site visits as required.


The Candidate:

Familiar with JCT and NEC forms of contract.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good attention to detail
Good level of IT ability
Experience in data retrieval from app-based systems.
Proven experience of working to deadlines.
Determined, focused and positive attitude.
Able to discuss, develop and implement new ideas
Able to follow instruction and work independently as well as part of a team


You will also need:

Able to multi task, be flexible within role and react to reasonable management requests.
Able to plan own workload and time.
