Carpenter (Bench Joinery) Apprentice

Working in our workshop with qualified joiners to build wood products, such as windows and doors, and bespoke products. You will be shaping and cutting materials by setting out, marking out and manufacturing basic architectural products and all associated ironmongery. You will be using an array of basic and technical tools to complete tasks under supervision, working from drawings.

Assist in parts of the process of manufacturing bespoke joinery; this will vary as your progress through the apprenticeship Learning skills required for the role and ensuring you follow health and safety rules and regulations Ensuring that general tasks throughout the workshop are completed

You will work under the supervision of Craftsman Joiners, Joiner Supervisors and Managers during your apprenticeship and as your skill base increases, you will undertake:

Using a range of joinery hand tools and portable machinery (drills, sanders, routers) Assemble joinery items such as doors, windows and bespoke furniture, all of which involve manual handling Undertake supervised minor works to facilitate the above duties. Learn and develop your skills, both on-the-job and at college

Training:

Apprenticeship standard Carpentry and Joinery level 2.

Functional Skills in English and maths of required.

Pathway  - Architectural Joinery (Bench Joinery).

Location - North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire college, Harrowbrook construction campus Hinckley.

Block release 4 days (Monday - Thursday) every 6 weeks.

Permanent position for the right candidate / Following completion of your apprenticeship there is a high chance of an opportunity for continued employment however this is not guaranteed.

Alongside this, we employ the services of skilled joiners and time-served craftsmen to undertake bespoke detailing and profiling for specialist projects. This is expertly managed by our Production Manager and his team who are all committed to our organisational values.

Working Hours :
Within the work week of Monday - Friday, hours to be set. Minimum of 8 hours Monday - Thursday, 6 hours on a Friday. Aged 18+, hours can be set to Monday - Thursday 10 hours per day, up to 40 hours a week.
