Finance Assistant Apprenticeship

To support the administrator, Home Manager and Principal with ‘financial’ recording in the school and home To liaise with the administrator to undertake administrative tasks as requested To work with the school/home managers and bursar as requested across the week To support the bursar to maintain accurate financial records and to report back to the bursar weekly To be aware that the role involves liaising with external agencies and ensuring that they maintain professional courtesy and promote the organisation To support the Bursar and School Head in managing the school finances, budgeting and procurement, setting up payroll and paying wages, VAT and invoicing To support the bursar to:manage the daily finances and petty cash and of the school and homes within budget maintain records of income and outgoings for the school including VAT manage payroll with support from the accountants manage invoicing for the school be responsible for procurement and audit of assets To fulfil a number of tasks involving electronic management and storage of information. To undertake routine word processing as and when required, and to assist with the maintenance of the home and school’s confidential computerised database of financial information on children and staff and produce related reports on same. To develop and maintain databases for the tracking of financial information across the organisation To assist in the maintenance of the home and school’s filing and archiving systems To support the maintenance of a safe environment To support the management of resources and ensure best value in doing so To undertake professional development in line with the requirements of the role and the company To undertake any duties in line with the demands of the role To maintain the highest standards of equality, confidentiality and data-protection at all times

Training:
Assistant Accountant level 2/3 20% off the job training  Tutor support via online platform 'Bud'

Training Outcome:
Permanant position considered on completion of the apprenticeship Level 5 qualification available

Working Hours :
Term time only 08:30 - 16:30 - Mon 08:30 - 16:00 - Tues - Thurs 08:30 - 15:30 - Friday  37.5 hours per week total
