Apprentice Horticulture Assistant (Level 2)

To work with all landscape based teams in delivering the maintenance programme to a high standard and within the given timescales. This includes tasks such as mowing, strimming, litter picking, shrub pruning, weeding and hedge cutting To ensure that all necessary paperwork is handed in on time and completed in a professional manner Complete all preoperational checks to machinery and vehicles in accordance with Bennett Landscapes & Maintenance Limited internal policy To ensure that punctuality and attendance are always adhered to for Bennett Landscapes & Maintenance Limited also for Birmingham Metropolitan College Ensure that all PPE and corporate uniform is always worn To accompany a variety of teams in completing the cyclical and responsive work that is required across all our service areas Ensure that Bennetts landscape programme is kept to a high standard and completed within the given timeframe Promote and maintain a culture which places customers first and aims to deliver a high standard of service

Training:

Undergo training, on a day release basis under the supervision of Birmingham Metropolitan College.

This is a level 2 Horticulture Apprenticeship that includes the following:

Mandatory Qualifications Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day course-Ofqual registered qualification) LANTRA Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides or C&G Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides LANTRA Level 2 Award in Safe Application of Pesticides Using Hand-Held Equipment or C&G Level 2 Award in Safe Application of Pesticides Using Pedestrian Equipment An apprentice is expected to attend college at least 1 day a week at Sutton Coldfield College (B74 2NW) Functional Skills in English and maths if required

Training Outcome:
A full-time position will be offered to those who successfully complete their apprenticeship

Monday to Friday Shifts: 7.00am - 3.00pm OR 7.30am - 3.30pm OR 8.00am - 4.00pm OR 8.30am - 4.30pm
