I am currently recruiting for a newly opened children's home based in Devon.

They are passionate in providing accommodation and conditions for growth, in a stable environment for young people with in their care.



The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Manager to join their team who has experience of working in a Children's residential care service setting.

You will play a fundamental role in creating a team who has a desire to make a real difference in the lives of young people aged between 12 -17 yrs old with some mild/moderate learning difficulties.



Duties:

? You will provide first line management and lead a small team of support workers in caring for the needs of residents.


? Providing support for the young peoples physical needs as necessary, such as cooking, washing, ironing, shopping, budgeting, and general maintenance around the Home
? Ensuring current and newly referred young people receive the highest level of person-centred care and support from the team.
? Providing relevant individual/team support by providing appropriate levels of coaching, development, access to training and CPD while ensuring you remain up to date with your own CPD requirements.
? Providing advice, assistance, and support on a 1:1 basis to enable young people to address past and present difficulties.
? Receiving, storing, and issuing information to improve communication by informing colleagues of recent developments, for example, during handover.
? Provide high quality assessment for the short and long term needs of young people aged between 12-17 yrs old.


Requirements:

? At least 2-3 years' experience within a children's residential setting,
? Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce (Childrens Social Care pathway) or equivalent or a commitment to obtain this qualification within 2 years
