You will be working within an integrated health service in Victoria, established in 1856. The hospital you will be working at prides itself on clinical excellence and the provision of a comprehensive range of services including a 24/7 Urgent Care Centre, general medicine, general surgery, obstetrics, dialysis, chemotherapy, palliative care and transition care services. The hospital is a 69-bed facility, with an 8-bed Day Procedure Unit and two operating theatres averaging 8 elective lists per week. In addition, there is a 30-bed aged care facility and a GP super-clinic attached to the hospital, with a comprehensive range of primary health, community and home care services. There are also on-site radiology, pathology and pharmacy services.
As Consultant General Physician, you will provide the highest quality clinical care to admitted patients, patients presenting to the Urgent Care Centre and patients attending appointments in the Consulting Rooms. You will contribute to the development of rural medical services as well supporting and enhancing the department’s overall patient-centred practices. You will be supported by a collegial team of multidisciplinary specialists, junior doctors and nurses, as well as Allied Health professionals. You will also have the opportunity for teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and medical students, while also exploring avenues for continued professional development.

Salary information
Consultant General Physicians can expect a salary in line with the VIC Award, plus a range of benefits.
Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.
