Accounting Technician

Accounting Technician Location: Surrey Contract: Temporary (3 months initial) Rate: £23-25ph umbrella – 36hr week Start Date: ASAP *Hybrid Working Available* Contact: greg.waite@servicecare.org.ukJob Description Service Care Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Surrey for an Accounting Technician on a temporary basis.

Main Responsibilities:

To support the Chief Accountant in providing comprehensive financial information, advice and support to the Resources Directorate and Chief Executive.
To produce the salary estimates for the portfolios within the postholder’s area of responsibility.
To assist in the calculation of Central Support and Office Accommodation recharges, across the Local Authority
To assist with the calculation of Insurance Recharges.
To prepare and submit, appropriate statistical returns to CIPFA, Government Departments and other organisations.

Ideal Candidate

AAT Qualified or Part Qualified CCAB/CIMA Equivalent
Experience in Local Authority finance is highly preferred with knowledge of Resources and Chief Executive services desirable
Experience of analysing complex financial data and experience of preparing and monitoring budgets
Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
