Electronics Test Engineer
Our Maldon, Essex based client designs, manufactures, and markets ultra-low power integrated circuits for communication industries worldwide.
They specialize in developing products for current and emerging analogue, digital, and mixed-signal Two-way Radio, Wireline Telecoms, and Wireless Data environments.
About the Role: As a member of our test solutions development team for semiconductor ICs and PCB assemblies, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing hardware and software solutions.
This position requires a diverse skill set in hardware and software engineering, along with experience in the complete product life cycle.
Main Responsibilities for the Electronics Test Engineer:
Develop test hardware, firmware, and software for the test facility.
Commission the test facility, including writing specifications and procedures.
Work within the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
Maintain existing legacy software, test fixtures, and test equipment, including fault finding to component level.
Optimize and structure test software and sequences to ensure efficient testing.
Attend and contribute to new product design reviews, particularly regarding testability features.
Develop and introduce new testing methodologies for new and existing product lines.
Support reliability testing of new products.
Essential Skills for the Electronics Test Engineer:
Experience working in a product-based electronics manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with mixed-signal device test and measurement challenges.
Knowledge of test and measurement instruments.
Relevant experience in software development.
Proficiency in schematic capture of circuits and PCB layout.
Experience in PCB debugging to component level.
Desirable Skills for the Electronics Test Engineer:
Soldering experience and building prototypes.
Experience programming software in C, C#, Python, FORTH, or LabView.
Experience in automating measurements using bench test equipment (GPIB, LXI, PXI).
Proficiency with Altium PCB Designer.
Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with version control tools (Subversion, git, etc).
