Do you have a keen interest in working within the education or mental health sectors?


Do you feel confident about working with children with challenging behaviour and making their educational experience more comfortable and enjoyable?

This small setting provides bespoke support for young girls aged 11-19 who are unable to manage in mainstream schools, mixed schools or male-dominated Pupil Referral Units or Special Schools.

Most students have an Education Health and Care Plan for SEMH, MLD or ASD.

Individualised teaching and therapeutic support, along with small class sizes give the young adults the opportunity to work on strategies and focus on their educational needs.

The is a fulltime role and involves:
-Building relationships to help pupils feel supported and safe enabling them to enjoy and learn
-Promoting and encouraging independence and personal development
-Promoting pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural and physical development
-Supporting the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class
-Being flexible and being able to respond to the varying and changing needs of the school
-Some physical intervention may be needed upon occasion, full training on this will be provided.
-This is a long term temp position with an option to go to permanent role later

Key Skills and Qualifications:
-Eligibility to work in the UK
-GCSE 'C' in Maths and English or equivalent
-Experience of working in a special school environment is desirable, but not essential
-Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification is desirable, but not essential
-Team TEACH Training is desirable, but not essential
