Young People's Night Support Worker
4Recruitment Services are seeking to recruit a Young People’s Support Worker to support our client.The postholder will provide a 24\7 hour service provision to work directly with children, young people and their families in liaison with other agencies and professionals to achieve positive and agreed outcomes as directed by their care plan and line manager.Waking night worker needs for Thursday's, Friday's, and Saturday's (10pm - 10am) - this is a temp to perm role.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Work as a team and individually to provide a flexible responsive, high quality and person centred care to children young people and their families based on an assessment of need and to access to a range of stimulating and safe activities and experiences within and external to the home. Build and maintain professional working relationships with children young people and their families by providing emotional, social and practical support to young people who can display challenging emotional and social difficultiesEstablish relationships and links within the community to assist the child, young person and their family.Support children and young people in their personal care, administration of medication and clinical procedures in line with organisational policies and proceduresEnsure that the views and needs of children/young people are heard and responded to by promoting communication and participationMaintain registration requirements in line with the required bodies and Action for Children is notified of any circumstances which could affect your registration statusUndertake routine household tasks e.g.
cooking washing shopping and/or supporting young people to undertake these tasks to enable the smooth running of the home and to promote independence. Record observations and maintain up to date files (paper and electronic), utilising agreed systems and procedures; undertake administrative processes as necessary to maintain systems, procedures and office practices
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.Must possess Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent within two years of taking up postWillingness to participate in relevant on the job or off site trainingProviding support and care, and being sensitive to the needs of othersWriting notes and recording informationAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to manage difficult situations within remit of jobAbility to plan and organise work once directedAbility to use Microsoft office packagesAn understanding and appreciation of Health and safety within the workplaceUnderstanding of diversity and relevance to this postKnowledge of safeguarding and risk assessmentWork shifts on a 24/7 basis as required by the establishment
