Skilled Landscaper

Do you take pride in creating outdoor spaces where the details matter? We’re looking for a skilled landscaper to work on high-end residential and commercial projects, covering all aspects of hard and soft landscaping to create bespoke installations.

You’ll work from detailed designs, bringing each project to life and taking responsibility for the quality of your work, working alongside like-minded landscapers with the support of a dedicated project manager.

One recent project included a bespoke outdoor entertaining area featuring oak buildings, a pizza oven, a brick-built outdoor kitchen, an outdoor shower, a sauna and a hot tub, finished with a carefully considered planting scheme.

You’ll have the freedom to make informed decisions about day-to-day site operations, with guidance from the company and project manager when needed. All tools required for the work are provided, and we support training and self-development, including in-house training to address small gaps in your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out soft landscaping duties including precision planting, turfing and pruning, to a high standardAssist with and execute hard landscaping tasks such as paving, stonework, decking, fencing and bespoke installationsWork from detailed design plans and specifications to ensure exact project deliveryMaintain immaculate site presentation at all times, particularly when working at occupied high-value propertiesUse and maintain tools and machinery safely and professionallyEnsure all finishes meet high-end quality expectations and client specificationsCommunicate effectively with supervisors, designers and clients where appropriateAdhere strictly to health and safety regulationsSupervise and direct a labourer as requiredBe commercially aware of budgets and timescales

Skills and Experience:

Strong all-round experience in both hard and soft landscaping is essentialProven experience in high-end landscaping or a similar environment preferredAbility to interpret and follow detailed landscaping plansHigh level of attention to detail and pride in workmanshipExperience working with premium materials, such as natural stone and hardwoods, desirableFull UK driving licence preferred

Working Arrangements:

Contracted to 40 hours per weekOptional overtime paid at time and a half, with total hours capped at 50 per weekProjects generally located within an hour of our base at YO41 1AHCompany van provided for travel from the base to the project and backPaid working time starts and finishes at the base, including travel to and from projectsWork continues throughout the year, with activities adapted around weather conditions. In exceptional extreme weather, temporary lay-offs may be necessary

£38,000–£45,000, based on an average 45-hour week, including five hours of overtime paid at time and a half, a project-specific bonus scheme and annual profit share. Overtime is optional, with total working hours capped at 50 per week.
