Instrument & Controls Engineer

We are currently looking for an Instrument and Controls Engineer to join a leading biopharmaceutical company based in London.



As the Instrument and Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining specialist laboratory, analytical equipment, and facility installations to support the company's Research & Development, Process Development and Translational teams.

You will primarily be responsible for equipment breakdown repairs & on-going maintenance work of laboratory & analytical equipment and associated utility systems, with an emphasis and focus on electrical, controls and instrumentation issues.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Instrument and Controls Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1.

You will assist with the development of engineering processes and systems including asset management, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

You will own identification, risk assessment and plan implementation of control measures surrounding hazardous tasks on site related to laboratory activities.

2.

As the Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, you will complete daily health check of laboratory equipment and monitoring systems and ensure non-compliances are reported and dealt with in a timely manner.

You will support the wider engineering team in implementation and maintenance and upkeep of the CMMS system.

3.

You will also support equipment validation and support control (PLC) and monitoring systems as needed as well as deliver improvement projects related to control and instrumentation as needed.

Additionally, you will act as main point of contact on assigned external service providers and manage their deliverables on behalf of the engineering team and maintain the asset care plan up to date, ensuring suppliers and contractors are booked in advance to attend site to maintain, calibrate and repair equipment.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Instrumentation and Controls Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1.

Bachelor of engineering / relevant engineering degree and extensive experience working in a similar Instrumentation/Calibration role with control system (PLC) experience is essential for this role.

2.

Proven industry experience in a similar role with experience providing diagnostics and first fix capabilities on a range of equipment and systems, experience performing PPM and completing in house calibration on a wide range of instruments is also required.



3.

Knowledge of current standards, procedures, & controls for GxP facilities and equipment and pharmaceutical utility systems knowledge HVAC, Medical gasses is also essential.
