CAD Draughtsman

We are looking for a CAD Draughtsman (Scenic Construction) for a leading creative production and fabrication company in Erith specialising in scenic construction, live events, exhibitions and themed environments.

Key Responsibilities

Manage projects from initial concept through to completion. Produce detailed construction, bench and CNC drawings using AutoCAD and other 2D/3D software. Develop practical build methods, materials and construction techniques. Work closely with workshop teams to support fabrication and resolve technical queries. Manage multiple projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets and quality standards are met. Research innovative materials and methods to improve production processes. Support and mentor junior team members. Liaise with clients and attend occasional site surveys and meetings.

Skills and Requirements

Experience in technical design within scenic construction, set building or a similar fabrication environment. Strong 2D and 3D AutoCAD skills. Excellent knowledge of carpentry, metalwork and construction methods. Understanding of materials and workshop fabrication processes. Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines. A proactive team player who can adapt to changing project requirements.
