THE OPPORTUNITY:
Get Recruited is recruiting on behalf of an education organisation looking for a Contracts & Procurement Manager to take ownership of its contract register, strengthen supplier performance and help schools get better value from their spending.
With home working available, a 36-hour week and a defined benefit pension, this offers a Contract Manager or Contract Management Specialist the opportunity to improve processes while supporting a meaningful educational mission.
As Contracts & Procurement Manager, you’ll report to the Head of Procurement and work closely with finance colleagues, budget holders and suppliers. An experienced Contract Manager or Contract Management Specialist will find a varied remit combining contract ownership, procurement support and practical advice.
THE CONTRACTS & PROCUREMENT MANAGER ROLE:
Maintain an accurate central contract register, giving colleagues clear visibility of supplier commitments, key dates and risks. Manage contracts from award through to expiry or termination, planning renewals, retenders and exits before deadlines are missed. Monitor supplier performance, address service issues and advise budget holders on renewal and alternative purchasing options. Review agreements for compliance with relevant legislation, education-sector requirements and internal policies. Support tenders and quotation exercises across a broad range of purchasing categories, helping colleagues evaluate options and demonstrate value for money. Maintain clear procurement records and analyse spending to identify trends, discrepancies and opportunities to improve purchasing decisions. Coordinate supplier onboarding and create accurate supplier records in Sage Intacct. Resolve contract and procurement queries, maintain useful internal guidance and train colleagues on contract responsibilities and supplier management. Work with school and shared-service colleagues, travelling frequently for meetings, site visits and other key engagements.
