Head of Repairs

A Local Authority based in West London is currently recruiting for a Head of Repairs to join their team as soon as possible.


This is a full time, temporary position and the ideal candidate will hold a profession qualification / membership in a relevant field and have experience working within social housing, ideally for a local authority or housing association.


The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the day-to-day operational management and deployment of resources across the Repairs service.

This role will ensure that the Repairs team are responsive to customer and community demands while contributing to the council's key strategic aims and priorities, generating contract efficiency's, ensuring value for money, and being the first point of contact for operational escalation.
Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Repairs this role will head up the Repairs Client Team.
To lead, manage and develop the Client Team, in line with relevant legislation namely Council policies relating to Gas, Electric, Disrepair, Asbestos, CDM.
To provide leadership, management, and direction to a team of multi-faceted professionally qualified staff who are responsible for monitoring contractual and financial compliance and client satisfaction for contracted services.
To work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership team to deliver continuous service improvement and satisfaction with the Economy

Requirements:

Experience in Contract Management
Experience of managing a Repair and Voids or similar service
Qualification in leadership and Management e.g.

DMS or MBA
Qualification in Health and Safety e.g.

SMSTS
Evidence of continuous professional development within Construction & Housing
Professional qualification RICS/CIOB or equivalent
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing or other comparable professional body
Holds a current and full UK driving Licence
Extensive experience of working in a social housing or regulatory environment for either a local authority, housing association or equivalent
Experience of managing a diverse range of staff and functions including managing contractors, social housing projects or regulation of private sector housing

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £380 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
