Product Manager

We are recruiting for a Product Manager for a leading valve manufacturer in West Yorkshire with a Global presence along with a reputation for making sure their employees thrive and succeed in their career through coaching, training and development.

The successful Product Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a product strategy for Control & Isolation valves whilst at the same time ensuring that pricing levels are matched to regional requirements and liaising with Regional Sales Directors, Product Management and the manufacturing site.

It will be the Product Manager that assesses competitor product offerings and devises and implements product strategy.

The Product Manager will also liaise with the global customer base to feedback any customer specific requirements that affect the manufacturing site and product development.

**Control valve and Isolation valve experience is crucial for the success in this role.

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:

Objectives:

To work closely with the Product Management Team & Commercial Ops and with the External/Divisional sales teams to secure profitable orders in line with factory manufacturing capabilities


To manage product marketing including PR, advertising, literature, web site (in partnership with MarCom)


To lead Product Life Cycle Management for Control & Isolation Valves – product planning and portfolio strategy – Product segmentation.

Develop product roadmap for each product family to include new product development, value engineering and cost reduction activities, investment and resource prioritization and M&A activities to achieve year-over-year growth
Assist with the Annual OE & Aftermarket Order Input
Liaise with external sales and internal sales to ensure quotations are in line with customers’ expectations
To work closely with aftermarket to provide on time quotations with the assistance of internal sales teams and help bridge the gap between aftermarket teams and factory
Represent Products to customers and at field events such as conferences, exhibitions, seminars, etc
To monitor competitor product and strategies and advise on risks and opportunities.

Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
The successful Product Manager should be qualified to an HNC/HND level or equivalent or have completed an indentured apprenticeship or a Degree
Experience of developing a strategy for business growth
Extensive experience in the valve industry.
Proven track record in a technical sales environment with a focus on Energy and Oil and Gas sectors

Language Skills:
Fluent oral and written English is essential.

Computer Skills:
Should be PC literate and confident with Microsoft Office package, namely Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
