Research and Development Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Armagh

Salary: £27K - £32K (DOE)

Job Type: Full Time / Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an R&D Engineer to join one of the best vehicle manufacturers (wheelchair-accessible vehicles ) in the UK.

You will support new product development and drive continuous improvement to existing designs and conversion of vehicles for disabled drivers and passengers.

Duties:

? Designing and documenting new conversions and developing new processes.
? Updating production build manuals, and carrying out fault-finding exercises.
? Liaising with R&D team in the creation/modification of parts, technical drawings, and Bill of Materials.
? Implement new technologies, manufacturing processes and materials.
? You will record and analyse Time and Motion studies to drive improvements in production times.
? Create and update all relevant documents for COCs/Certification/Testing.
? Scheduling and visiting test houses to perform component/vehicle crash test campaigns.
? Creating and managing multiple design projects within set timeframe.


Requirements:

? 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing industry-related role.
? Previous experience implementing change control within a production environment.
? Experience in solid/surface modelling using Solidworks or similar.
? Degree educated or equivalent in Engineering.
? Working knowledge of steelwork is an advantage.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word and Excel), Office 365.
? Full Driving Licence.


Shift:

? 44 hr week
? Monday to Thursday, 8.00am - 5.30pm
? Friday, 8.00am - 4.30pm.
