Childcare Apprentice while studying for childcare qualification

Carry out planned activities as directed by Senior Staff.

Provide stimulating activities to enable the children to develop.

Enforce the procedure for general cleanliness and hygiene of children.

Assisting in the provision of a friendly, secure, safe and clean environment.

Maintaining good written records of children's development on a daily basis.

Taking some active part in weekly rota and planning meetings.

Fulfilling your studying duties with your nominated college/course provider.

Training:

Working towards a Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills in English and maths if required.

Working in the nursery as a member of the team to gain direct experience and knowledge.

Monthly online training events to deliver Knowledge elements

Monthly review meetings with your Apprenticeship Tutor

Monthly BPN Boost webinars and online resources for support

Regular observations with Apprenticeship Tutor/mentor to evidence skills

Witness statements to evidence behaviours

Full support from nursery mentor during working hours to help you achieve your goal

Training Outcome:

After completing a Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship, you are qualified to work unsupervised with children in roles such as Early Years Practitioner or Nursery Nurse. With experience, you can progress to positions like Room Leader or Deputy Nursery Manager. Further training, such as a Level 5 Diploma or a degree in Early Childhood Studies, can lead to senior roles like Nursery Manager, Early Years Consultant, or even Primary School Teacher through routes like EYITT or a PGCE.

We are a small independent nursery with a large garden at the back of the property.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday full time in 2 shifts: 8am - 5pm or 9am - 6pm Wekends and bank holidays off.
