Logistics Apprentice
Working alongside our experienced team, you’ll learn how we coordinate the movement of goods across the UK and Europe.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in:
Booking and managing international shipments using our Transport Management System. Communicating with customers and overseas logistics partners. Providing customers with shipment updates and ETAs. Working with our Transport, Customs and Warehouse teams. Learning about UK and EU customs requirements. Preparing shipping documents, load lists and manifests. Helping coordinate collections and working with third-party hauliers. Resolving customer queries and delivering great customer service.You’ll be given real responsibility while having the support of experienced colleagues around you as you develop your knowledge and confidence.
Training:
On the job training delivered by the employer.
Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeships English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3.
Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training.
Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop.
Identify, track and support 6 hours off the job training activities.
Quarterly formal progress review meetings, identifying learning achievements and next steps.
Training Outcome:
Initially a Fixed Term contract for 18/19 months duration with a view to become permanent if position available at the end of the apprenticeship.
Completing your apprenticeship could open the door to a variety of career paths, including Freight Forwarding, European Operations,
Transport, Customs, Customer Service, Supply Chain and International Trade.
