Carpentry Apprentice

Key Duties and Responsibilities

First Fix Carpentry

Installing roof trusses and constructing cut roofs. Fitting floor joists and timber frame structures. Assisting with the construction of timber-framed houses. Carrying out structural carpentry work to required specifications. Reading and interpreting construction drawings and plans. Measuring, cutting and assembling timber components.

Second Fix Carpentry

Installing skirting boards and architraves. Hanging internal and external doors. Assisting with kitchen fitting and installation. Laying a variety of flooring types. Fitting staircases and associated components. Completing high-quality finishing work to residential properties.

Training:

One day a week at Kidderminster College Green Technology Centre. 

Training Outcome:

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities to progress into a qualified Carpenter & Joiner position within the business.

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm.
