A rare opportunity for a Head Chef to take the lead in a quality, fresh-food kitchen in King’s Cross, with a Monday to Friday daytime operation.
This is a role built around great food, great people and a strong work-life balance.
The kitchen has a busy breakfast and lunch trade, with occasional events and private functions adding variety. You’ll be leading from the front in an open kitchen, working with fresh ingredients and a menu that puts quality and simplicity at the centre.
And the best part?
You’ll be finished in the afternoon.
THE ROLE
As Head Chef, you’ll take ownership of the kitchen and its day-to-day operation.
You’ll be responsible for:
Leading a small, fresh-food kitchenDelivering a high-quality breakfast and lunch serviceMaintaining strong food standards and consistencyWorking closely with the wider management teamManaging ordering, GP, stock and kitchen controlsDeveloping and refining the menu with support from the Executive ChefLeading occasional events and functionsTraining and developing the kitchen teamMaintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standardsCreating a positive kitchen culture where people enjoy coming to workThe kitchen operates Monday to Friday, with service finishing at around 4pm.
No late nights. No regular weekends.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We’re looking for a chef who genuinely enjoys fresh food and a hands-on kitchen.
You’ll ideally be:
An experienced Head Chef from a smaller, fresh-food operationConfident running a kitchen independentlyStrong across breakfast and lunch serviceComfortable working in an open kitchen environmentPassionate about fresh ingredients and cooking from scratchCommercially aware and confident managing kitchen costsA natural leader who enjoys developing peopleOrganised, hands-on and calm under pressureWe’re also very open to hearing from experienced Sous Chefs who are ready to take their first Head Chef position.
