Senior Process Safety Engineer

This Process Safety Engineer position is with a nationally leading chemical manufacturing company specialising in the manufacture of synthetic resins.

The main purpose of the Process Safety Engineer is the control of all equipment on both sites to ensure they run safely and effectively at all times, and to maintain and control an effective system.

Responsibilities of the Process Safety Engineer;

Working closely with chemicals and control specialists to ensure the production plant is set up to provide maximum output and efficient running of the production facility.
Designing plant and equipment configuration so that they can be readily adapted to suit the product range and the technologies involved, taking environmental and economic aspects into account.
Instituting scale-up and scale down operations including appropriate changes to equipment design and configuration.
Assessing options for plant expansion or reconfiguration by developing and testing operation simulation models.
Designing, installing and commissioning new production machinery, including monitoring developments and troubleshooting.
Optimising production by analysing operations and compiling de-bottleneck studies
Engaging in a professional development programme to support with progression through the company.

To be successful in this position as Process Safety Engineer, an established technical background with experience in a production or operations environment on a chemical site within is required.

The minimum qualification for this role is a Chemical / Process Engineering degree or equivalent with Safety experience.
