The Role

You’ll be taking ownership of a portfolio of bookkeeping clients, keeping monthly and quarterly records in order, preparing VAT returns, and ensuring clients’ financial records are accurate and up to date. You’ll work closely with the wider team, attending regular one-to-ones and team meetings, and following our well-established practice procedures.

 Key Responsibilities Include:

Monthly and quarterly bookkeeping for a varied client portfolioPreparation and submission of VAT returnsJournals and bookkeeping adjustments as requiredCommunicating directly with clients in a professional and helpful mannerWorking within our practice management systems and document capture softwareResponding to client queries in a professional and timely mannerAssisting with year-end preparation and supporting colleagues and/ or accountants as required

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum ICB Level 2 or AAT Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)At least 6 months’ experience working within the bookkeeping or accounting industryCompetent and confident with Xero - our primary softwareComfortable with Microsoft Office applicationsExperience with QuickBooks would make you a strong candidate

Working Arrangements

Full-time contract with core hours agreed to fall within the working weekPredominantly home-based with flexibility to suit your lifeDuring the initial phase (up to 6 months), you will be expected to work from our office 2-3 times per week while you become familiar with our clients, systems, and the way we work - we find in-person onboarding makes a real differenceMust be able to drive and be based within Buckinghamshire or Berkshire.

Salary & Benefits
