Service & Maintenance Apprentice
Accompany and assist experienced engineers and technicians on service, maintenance, and inspection visits across all sectors
Begin developing practical knowledge of medical gas pipeline systems (MGPS), process gas, compressed air, vacuum, and specialist gas systems
Assist with routine inspection, testing, and servicing of compressed air plant, vacuum plant, gas generation systems (e.g. nitrogen generators), and VIEs under supervision
Support servicing and inspection activities on medical gas area alarm panels, gas detection systems, and gas control equipment under close guidance
Assist with the completion of service records, inspection reports, and job documentation under guidance
Learn and apply relevant health & safety requirements, permit-to-work systems, and RGE procedures at all times
Attend and actively participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and structured training sessions
Start building awareness of relevant standards and codes of practice including HTM 02-01, BCGA Codes of Practice, SEMI Standards, and EIGA guidelines
Develop basic familiarity with gas system components including pipework, valves, outlets, alarms, and control equipment
Maintain a professional approach on all client sites at all times
Represent RGE positively with clients, building relationships from an early stage
Training:
You will attend Hopwood Hall College one day per week on your designated day-release day. You will also be assigned a tutor who will visit your workplace regularly to carry out progress reviews and support your development throughout the apprenticeship.
Training Outcome:
By completing this apprenticeship, you will achieve a full Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Technician qualification.

installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of medical and specialist gas systems. We operate
across healthcare, pharmaceutical, nuclear, semiconductor, and commercial sectors, working to the highest
regulatory and quality standards throughout.
Working Hours :
Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, and Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm.
