Riding and exercising horses to a competent standard
Feeding, Lunging
Carrying out daily horse care routines
Grooming, tacking up and turning horses in and out
Assisting with exercise and fitness programmes
Maintaining clean and tidy stables and yard areas
Carrying out general yard duties
Ensuring horses are cared for to a high standard
Following health and safety procedures
Working as part of the wider yard team
Training:
You will be working towards the Level 2 Equine apprenticeship qualification, and all training will be provided on-site during your paid working hours
Your day-to-day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach
Training Outcome:
On successful completion of the Level 2 Groom Apprenticeship, there may be opportunities to progress onto a level 3 qualification and/or move into full-time employment for the right candidate.
Employer Description:
Home Farm Stables is an established equestrian yard based in Penton Mewsey, near Andover, Hampshire.
The yard provides a hands-on environment for working with horses, with opportunities to develop practical skills in horse care, riding and exercise. Home Farm Stables has also hosted equestrian training and flatwork clinics, providing a professional environment for developing both horse and rider.
Working Hours :
Working days will vary and will include weekends. 8:00am to 4:30pm, with 30 minutes unpaid lunch.
