Apprentice Engineering Maintenance Technician

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will develop valuable electrical and mechanical skills that can support a successful long-term career in engineering, both within manufacturing and across the wider engineering sector.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

Complete a structured engineering apprentice training programme and provide evidence of competence against the required apprentice skills matrix. Support electrical installation, electrical maintenance, electrical testing and PLC-related activities under supervision. Develop practical skills using a range of machine tools, including turning, milling, grinding and drilling. Assist with planned maintenance, predictive maintenance, calibrations, routine inspections and engineering projects. Attend breakdown repairs and support refurbishment, installation, improvement and modification work on plant and services. Work safely and conscientiously while contributing to continuous improvement of machinery, equipment, plant availability, safety, efficiency, productivity and product quality. Attend college as required and complete tasks and duties as directed by departmental managers or supervisors.

Training:
The apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in Engineering Maintenance Technician - dual discipline L3. The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course. This is a Day Release programme, which means you will attend College 1 day per week, term-time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours.
