An exciting opportunity has become available within a growing Building Services consultancy in London.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Mechanical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering innovative, sustainable engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of developments.
You'll play a key role within the business, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and senior stakeholders while contributing to the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll lead and contribute to a range of technically challenging projects across sectors including:
Commercial developmentsResidential and mixed-use schemesEducation facilitiesHealthcare projectsLife sciencesData centresHospitality and leisureYou will be responsible for developing robust mechanical design solutions, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeading the mechanical design and delivery of building services projectsProducing and reviewing detailed calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentationManaging project deliverables across multiple RIBA stagesTaking responsibility for programme, quality, and design outputCoordinating with internal and external project teamsAttending and leading client, design, and stakeholder meetingsSupporting the development of sustainable and low-carbon building services strategiesUndertaking site visits, surveys, and construction-stage supportMentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and graduatesWhat We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess:
Strong experience within a Building Services Consultancy environmentProven mechanical building services design experience across a variety of sectorsA solid understanding of HVAC, public health, and sustainable design principlesExperience leading projects and managing client relationshipsKnowledge of current industry regulations and engineering standardsProficiency with industry software such as Revit, Hevacomp, IES, or similar design packagesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsThe ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider teamChartered Engineer status, or active progress towards Chartership, would be beneficial but is not essential.
