Level 3 HGV Mechanic Apprentice

On this 3 year course, you will be assigned initially to a trained mechanic completing lighter mechanical duties, assisting the trained mechanic and then progress once competent to complete service/MOT activities and then progress to technical repairs for defects or breakdowns, fault diagnosis over a range of small vehicles to HGV vehicles.

General Housekeeping of workshop and bay areas Storage of tools and equipment Completion of job cards Movement of vehicles within plant workshop compound Vehicle washing  Servicing of fluids Tyre checks/Vehicle walk around checks Electrical repairs Engine repairs Brakes/clutches All compliance and regulatory duties for MOT preparations Any duties that are within your skills and capabilities 

Training:
Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Level 3 Worskhop Supervisor will mentor and be responsible for the apprentice development Assigned to a qualified and trained mechanic to work with daily and supervised Block release to college - 1 week at a time 

Training Outcome:
Permanent full-time employment with on call payments/overtime and competitive hourly rate Progression Route is from HGV Mechanic Apprentice to Trainee HGV Technician to HGV Technician to Senior HGV Technician to Workshop Supervisor

Monday to Friday 7am - 3.30am (30 mins unpaid lunch) 40 hours per week
