Business Admin Apprenticeship - Level 3

East Lancashire Alliance (ELA) is a Community Interest Company supporting primary care and delivering a range of services across East Lancashire. This Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship provides broad practical experience across four key areas: Office / Service Delivery, Coding, Human Resources and Community Nursing.

The apprentice will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship while supporting day-to-day administrative activity across ELA.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Answering routine telephone enquiries and supporting patient bookings for ELA services, once trained and assessed as competent.
• Supporting appointment, referral and service administration for Wound Care, Ring Pessary, Diabetic Monitoring, Warfarin and Enhanced Access.
• Maintaining service trackers, spreadsheets, records and electronic information accurately.
• Supporting shared inboxes, routine correspondence, documents and meeting administration.
• Supporting Coding administration, data-quality checks and coding records.
• Supporting HR recruitment, interview, onboarding, employee-record and training administration using agreed processes.
• Supporting Community Nursing administration, including service records, referrals, appointments and stock/consumables records where appropriate.
• Using Microsoft Office, Teams, spreadsheets, databases and relevant ELA systems.
• Working with patients, GP practices, clinical teams, ELA colleagues, HR colleagues, coding colleagues and other stakeholders.
• Identifying opportunities for administrative improvement and completing an appropriate small improvement activity during the apprenticeship.

The apprentice will initially work with close supervision and will take on greater responsibility as confidence and competence develop. Activities requiring specialist judgement, including complex or sensitive HR matters, will be escalated to the appropriate colleague.

Training Outcome:

Potential permanent role on successful completion of the apprenticeship, subject to performance, organisational requirements and business need.
