Administration Apprentice (PPM and Asset)

Are you ready to begin a career in Hard Facilities Management, supporting the maintenance of critical hospital systems? Join us at Queen Alexandra Hospital to play a key role in maintaining statutory and mandatory compliant systems that ensure safe and effective healthcare environments. As part of our Asset Management team, you will support the delivery of planned preventative maintenance, repairs, testing, and new installations across a wide range of hospital equipment, services, systems, and buildings.

You will learn valuable skills while contributing to a professional, customer-focused FM function, supporting both internal teams and contracted service providers.

What will you deliver? 

Assist in providing a 24/7 maintenance service for Portsmouth Hospitals University Trust within the service provider team. Help coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities, ensuring optimal allocation of work, manpower, and resources. Support the scheduling and completion of all Statutory and Mandatory inspections and maintenance. Maintain and update statutory, contractual, and compliance records accurately. Update the computerised maintenance management system (CAFM) and manual records. Assist in producing operational and compliance reports as required. Provide asset-related advice and support within core technical areas. Promote excellent customer service to internal and external partners. Collaborate effectively with support services teams to ensure smooth operations. Maintain and develop knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and best practices, including health & safety regulations like COSHH. Undertake additional reasonable duties as assigned by management. 

Training:

You will undertake training via an apprenticeship which will be delivered virtually. You will train for 6 hours per week and receive mentoring and development on the job.



Training Outcome:

Upon completion of this apprenticeship there is potential to lead to a permanent role and further career development.

Monday to Friday, 08.00 - 16.00, with half an hour unpaid lunch.
