Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice

The apprentice will receive a detailed plan which works alongside their college course This plan will incorporate most areas of the business so that they can get a good understanding of the whole process from quotation to shipping the completed product They will spend a specified period of time in each area where they will have a dedicated mentor, monthly reviews and final assessments in line with what they are learning at college  Areas covered include, sales, customer account management, manufacturing engineering, CNC machining, milling, turning and grinding, quality inspection and dispatch

Training:

Engineering Manufacturing Technician Level 4.

You will attend Solihull College & University Centre (Woodlands Campus) one day a week during term time. You will study a HNC in Mechatronics whilst at college and be visited by the allocates assessor to assist you build a portfolio of evidence to meet the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour listed in the apprenticeship standard. 

At the end of the learning, you will complete some End Point Assessments (EPA), which are independently assessed by EAL. 

Training Outcome:

Long term career progression could be a supervisory position in production, a manufacturing engineer, a quality engineer, or business development. Short term could be an apprenticeship degree in a chosen/related field.

Employer Description:

Summit Engineering, based in Solihull, specialise in the manufacture and engineering of metal components, supplying into the aerospace, oil & gas and defence industries.

Working Hours :
Monday to Thursday 6am - 4.15pm OR 7am - 5.15pm. We don’t work Fridays, but sometimes there is a need for overtime.
