Level 3 Engineering & Technical Support Apprentice

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting with the development, manufacture and assembly of waste compaction and recycling machinery Helping to develop and build Wastestream's glass crushing machines and other specialist recycling equipment Supporting the installation and commissioning of machinery at customer premises Diagnosing faults and repairing compaction and recycling machinery in the field Providing technical support to customers, primarily within the hospitality sector Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on machines Carrying out deep cleans and refurbishment of machinery Learning to identify mechanical and electrical faults and determine suitable repairs Assisting with workshop fabrication, assembly and general engineering tasks Using CAD software to produce layouts and designs for customer waste rooms and recycling areas Helping develop and implement waste room strategies, including the positioning of machinery, bins and recycling equipment Carrying out customer site surveys to assess whether proposed machinery is suitable for the space and operation Taking measurements and gathering technical information during site surveys Assisting with machinery specifications and installation planning Supporting research and development projects into new recycling methods, machinery and technologies Assisting with the development, prototyping and testing of new Wastestream machinery Testing modifications and improvements to existing machines Recording findings from machinery trials and assisting with the ongoing improvement of equipment Maintaining tools, workshop equipment and engineering work areas Supporting the wider Wastestream team with engineering and technical projects as required

Training:

Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x1 day per week either at Uxbridge, Harrow or Hayes Campus, completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship.

The apprentice will be required to complete: Work towards gaining a full Qualification.

Employment Rights and Responsibilities Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours Standard and End Point Assessment Functional Skills in English, maths, and ICT (if required). Other training will be provided by the employer as required to enable the fulfilment of the job role

Training Outcome:

Attaining a Level 3 Qualification in Engineering.

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, working hours TBC.
