Apprentice Healthcare Support Worker

The role will be at the patient's bedside- taking on tasks including:

Washing and dressing patients Helping patients move Making beds Serving meals

We will also teach you technical skills, including:

How to check a patient's blood pressure, temperature and heartrate Emergency lifesaving skills More advanced skills, depending on the type of ward, such as taking a patient's blood for testing

Training:

Your training will mostly take place at the hospital you are based at. You will be assigned a personal tutor who will support you throughout your apprenticeship which will include:

One-to-one coaching Small group tutorials Online learning activities Work-based training

Training Outcome:
You could progress your career in nursing or other clinical roles such as allied health professionals

Working Hours :
Most roles are 24/7 shift based including weekends and there is enhanced pay for unsocial hours. Rosters are planned and agreed in advance.
