ACCA Senior Accountant

Salary: £50,000–£65,000 DOE

A well-established boutique accountancy practice based in London, supporting individuals, entrepreneurs, and growing businesses with a range of accounting, tax, and business advisory services.
The firm prides itself on providing a personal, high-quality service and building long-term relationships with its clients.
They are now looking for an experienced ACCA Senior Accountant to join the team and take ownership of a varied client portfolio.

The Role
This is a senior, client-facing position where you’ll manage accounts and tax work from start to finish, work directly with clients, and support junior team members.
You’ll have the opportunity to take real ownership of your work while developing your technical and commercial experience within a growing practice.

Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of clients and act as their main point of contactPrepare and review year-end accounts and financial statementsPrepare and review corporation tax and personal tax returnsHandle VAT returns and related compliance workReview bookkeeping and accounting recordsReview junior team members’ work and provide guidance and feedbackRespond to client queries and provide day-to-day accounting supportLiaise with HMRC and Companies House where requiredIdentify tax planning and advisory opportunitiesSupport new client onboarding and accounting processesWork with cloud accounting software and improve processes where possible
About You
We’re looking for someone who is confident working independently, enjoys client interaction, and has strong experience within a UK accountancy practice.
Ideally, you will have:
ACCA qualified status or equivalentStrong experience within a UK accountancy practiceIdeally 3+ years’ post-qualification experienceExperience managing your own client portfolioStrong knowledge of UK accounts, corporation tax, VAT, and personal taxExperience reviewing work and supporting junior accountantsExcellent client communication and relationship-building skillsStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsGood commercial awareness and a proactive approachExperience with cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooksStrong Excel skills
