Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Brewster Avenue Infant School.
The role will include:
Working with the class team to create a secure, happy and safe environment and assisting in keeping the environment clean and tidy Playing and interacting with the children to support their learning and development Working with small groups or individual children, including those with special educational needs, delivering class work or interventions Developing and maintaining effective relationships with other staff, parents and carers Observing pupils and feeding back to the class teacher about learning to inform assessments Care routines such as nappy changing, handwashing, supporting snack and lunchtimes Being aware of, and complying with, policies and procedures, e.g. child protection, online safety, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person Accompanying pupils on visits, trips and out-of-school activities as required Attending relevant meetings and trainingTraining:
After completing the induction day at Peterborough College campus, the apprentices will be required to attend a mandatory college based learning day on a Wednesday every 3 weeks.
Training Outcome:
Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, you will be qualified as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant and will be able to apply for roles requiring this qualification.
There is no guarantee of job at the end of the apprenticeship, but there may be positions available, depending on the needs of the school at the time of the course completion.

Brewster Avenue Infants is a 2-form entry infant school, with a 26-place maintained nursery. We currently have two hundred children from the ages of 3 to 7 attend our school.

Working Hours :
8.45am - 3.15pm Monday - Friday. Term time only.
