It's all about teamwork in an optician's practice. There are many roles, but you support each other to ensure your customers get the best experience possible. Optical assistants are a very important part of any optical practice and crucial to the customer journey. The duties within this role include:

Manage appointments, update customer records, process orders for glasses and contact lenses, take payments, and support smooth daily store operations. Dispensing & Technical Skills, Assist customers with frame and lens selection, take precise measurements, fit and adjust frames, perform minor repairs, and ensure all eyewear meets clinical recommendations. Product & Styling Expertise, Provide confident advice on spectacles, sunglasses, coatings, contact lenses, and accessories, offering personalised styling and functional guidance. Customer Journey Support, Greet customers, carry out pre-screening tests, explain offers and services, and ensure a friendly, professional experience from entry to collection. Retail & Team Performance, Drive sales through strong retail skills and needs-based recommendations, while working collaboratively with the team to deliver personalised solutions.

Working Hours :
37.5 hours per week over 7 days. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 9.30am to 6.00pm. Thursday, 9.30am / 10.30am to 6.00pm / 6.30pm. Sunday, 11.00am to 5.00pm.
