Vacancy – Control Systems Engineer

Hours – 40 hours per week

Salary – £40,000

Location: Site-based commissioning with UK and Overseas Travel. Please note this role will involve extensive travel and long periods of time away

Commissioning Engineer – PLC / Automation / Control Systems

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone experienced in PLC programming, HMI systems, control panels and industrial automation.

The engineer will travel extensively to customer sites across the UK and overseas to install, test, programme and commission control systems. They will also fault-find problems, troubleshoot PLC/software issues and provide technical support to customers.

The role suits someone who is comfortable working independently on-site, dealing directly with customers and solving technical problems under pressure.

Main duties:

Programme and configure PLCs and HMIsCommission control panels and automation systemsTest and fault-find electrical/control systemsTroubleshoot PLC, HMI and software issuesProvide on-site technical supportWork with engineering teams to complete projectsDeal directly with customersComplete commissioning reports/documentationTravel extensively throughout the UK and internationally

Important: This is not primarily a workshop/design-based role. It is a site-based, customer-facing commissioning position with significant travel and potentially long periods away from home.
