Land-Based Service Engineering Apprentice

Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on land-based machinery and equipment. Assist with fault finding using mechanical, electrical and hydraulic diagnostic techniques. Repair and replace components following manufacturer specifications. Prepare machinery for inspection, delivery and customer use.
Conduct pre-delivery inspections and routine safety checks.
Use hand tools, specialist equipment and workshop machinery safely and correctly. Read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams and workshop instructions. Maintain accurate service records and complete job documentation. Keep the workshop clean, tidy and organised.
Support experienced engineers during repairs and customer call-outs where required. Follow health, safety and environmental procedures at all times. Develop excellent customer service skills when communicating with customers and colleagues.

Training:

The apprenticeship will take place 4 x days per week at the workplace, with 1 x day release over at Houghall Campus per week.



Training Outcome:

Potential full-time employment upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, 08.30 - 17.00. Saturday, 08.30 - 13.00. 30 minutes for lunch.
