CBS Electrical Engineering Apprentice

Complete the agreed apprenticeship programme, off-the-job learning, assessments, portfolio and end-point assessment requirements within the planned timescales

Work under appropriate supervision and within personal competence, escalating uncertainty, hazards, technical concerns and design changes promptly

Support the preparation and checking of electrical engineering information, including calculations, equipment schedules, cable schedules, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and technical submissions

Assist with the selection and application of electrical equipment for systems such as CHP, solar PV, battery energy storage, heat pumps, microgrids and associated balance-of-plant

Gain practical experience of low-voltage distribution, protection, earthing, containment, cabling, motor control, instrumentation interfaces and control panels, as relevant to assigned projects

Support site surveys, installation inspections, testing, commissioning, fault finding, maintenance and the capture of accurate as-built information

Participate in design reviews, project meetings, lessons learned and continuous-improvement activities, contributing constructively and completing agreed actions

Apply CBS safety expectations, electrical safe-working principles, risk controls, site rules, permit requirements and environmental responsibilities at all times

Build effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, suppliers, subcontractors and the training provider, representing CBS professionally

Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Commissioning, Operations & Maintenance, SHEQ, Commercial and Procurement teams; clients, suppliers, subcontractors and the appointed training provider

Use engineering software, document-control systems and standard CBS templates accurately, maintaining clear records and traceability



Training Outcome:

This is a pipeline role with a view to roll off onto an enduring role within the CBS business.
