Apprentice Electrical Technician

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

Machinery Electrical Build:

Assist in the electrical build of machinery under appropriate supervision and to the project specific requirements. Understand & follow electrical schematics and build documentation. Participate in electrical testing, commissioning and fault finding. Attend customer sites to install machines and implement modifications.

Learning & Development:

Complete electrical apprenticeship coursework to a high standard. Achieve a high level of attendance with day release/off-site study. Develop core electrical skills (e.g. crimping, soldering & cable termination). Build an understanding of company standards and safe working practices.

Communication:

Work collaboratively with all colleagues to support machine builds. Communicate effectively with colleagues and managers (e.g. progress reports and skill sharing). Contribute positively to a professional working environment.

Flexibility & Additional Responsibilities:

Effectively manage workload in a fast-paced environment with competing and unpredictable priorities. Adapt priorities to meet business or client needs at short notice. Provide ad hoc support and specialist input as required. Undertake additional duties or lead projects, where aligned with the general responsibilities of the role.

 

 



Training:
The learner will be studying the Engineering Fitter Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification. Day release to West Suffolk College.

Training Outcome:

We are committed to developing our apprentices and, subject to business requirements and performance, there may be the opportunity to progress into a permanent Electrical Technician position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. Further development and career progression opportunities may also be available within the business.

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday: Required to be in the business during core hours 9:30am-15:30pm.
