Accounts Payable Apprenticeship

The Finance department plays a crucial role, supporting the JSM Group on its growth journey and the Accounts Payable Apprentice role is an important, integral member of the Finance team.

The role after training will include;

Process vendor and subcontractor invoices accurately and in line with approval and coding requirements. Reconcile supplier statements to the ledger and resolve discrepancies with suppliers and internal stakeholders Support the processing and review of staff expense claims and company credit card statements. Assist with the preparation of weekly payment runs. Carry out regular review and housekeeping of the vendor ledger to keep supplier records accurate and up to date Provide cover for colleagues within the finance team during periods of absence and holiday. Handle financial data accurately and confidentially and follow JSM’s financial controls and approval processes.  Complete your apprenticeship coursework and build your knowledge with our support – including sitting in with colleagues elsewhere in finance and the wider business.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as required by the organisation. Staff are expected to be flexible in their work in order to deliver the objectives of the organisation.



Training:

Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Level 3 - AAT.
Employees on this apprenticeship will ensure an Accountancy and Finance practice performs in the most effective way.

The course is delivered on-line via a live classroom 1-day per week.

You will learn how to prepare financial statements for Sole Traders and Partnerships, the importance of management accounting information, and how to prepare VAT returns.

You’ll develop the technical skills to progress your career in accountancy, and this will allow you to continue with your studies onto Level 4.

To pass this level you will need to study the following four units:

Financial Accounting Preparing Financial Statements (FAPS) Management Accounting Techniques (MATS) Tax Processes for Business
