Game Console Repair Technician Apprentice

Book customer devices into the workshop and update repair records. Inspect and help diagnose faults in game consoles, controllers and laptops. Safely disassemble, clean and reassemble electronic devices. Assist with repairs, including soldering and component replacement as skills develop. Test repaired devices to ensure they are working correctly. Organise tools, spare parts and customer equipment. Keep the workshop clean, tidy and safe. Speak with customers about repairs, collections and general enquiries. Process customer collections and payments. Follow health and safety procedures and handle customer property with care. Work alongside experienced technicians, learning new repair techniques and following instructions.

Training:
The apprentice will complete their off-the-job training through London Vesta College. Training will take place at London Vesta College For the first six months, training will take place once every two weeks. After the initial six months, the apprentice will attend the college on a day-release basis, one day per week, for the remainder of the apprenticeship.

Training Outcome:

After completing the apprenticeship, the apprentice may be able to progress into a full-time role as a Game Console Repair Technician or Electronics Repair Technician.

With more experience and training, they may be able to take on more advanced repairs, develop new technical skills, become a senior technician, or move into a team leader or supervisor role.

Employer Description:

We are a game console repair company specialising in PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo repairs. We have been operating from our current location in Stratford for over seven years and are now looking to expand into the national market. We are seeking an apprentice to help us manage the increased workload that this expansion will bring.

Working Hours :
10.30am to 7pm, Mon to Fri. 2x 30-minute unpaid breaks per day.
