Apprentice Joiner
No two days are the same. Working alongside experienced Joiners and Trades Colleagues, you'll learn how to:
Carry out carpentry and joinery repairs within customers' homes and communal buildings Install and repair doors, frames, skirting boards, flooring, kitchens and other timber products Measure, prepare and cut materials accurately Safely use hand tools and power tools Support maintenance, refurbishment and improvement projects Develop an understanding of building regulations and safe working practices Travel to different locations across our communities to carry out work activities Identify repair issues and learn how to recommend solutions Maintain accurate records relating to completed work and materials used Deliver excellent customer service when working in customers' homes Attend apprenticeship training sessions and complete coursework Participate in networking, development and learning opportunities across the Calico Group Contribute to apprentice projects, Youth Voice activities and initiatives that help improve servicesAs your skills and confidence grow, you'll take on increasing responsibility and develop a strong foundation for a career in carpentry, joinery and the wider construction industry.
Training:
Carpentry and Joinery Level 2.
The successful applicant will attend day release at Burnley College.
Training Outcome:
Potential for a long-term career with Calico after successful completion of the apprenticeship.
