Procurement & Supply Assistant Apprentice

Job Purpose:

The Procurement & Supply Assistant supports the purchasing and supply chain activities of JDR Products Ltd, ensuring goods and services are sourced, ordered, delivered, and recorded efficiently. The role combines day-to-day operational responsibilities with structured learning through a 15-month apprenticeship programme.

Key Responsibilities

Purchase Order Management – Create, process, and track purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Supplier Communication – Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, confirm delivery schedules, and resolve any issues. Invoice & Delivery Tracking – Match invoices to purchase orders, check delivery notes, and resolve any discrepancies. Stock & Inventory Support – Assist with stock checks, replenishment, and monitoring supply levels. Data & Record Keeping – Maintain procurement records, contract files, and supplier databases. Market & Supplier Research – Research suppliers, pricing, and market trends to support purchasing decisions. Compliance & Policy Adherence – Follow procurement policies, ethical standards, and audit requirements. Cross-Team Collaboration – Work closely with Finance, Operations, and Warehouse teams to support supply chain activities.

Training:

An apprenticeship includes regular specialize training with a training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.



Training Outcome:

There will be an opportunity for a full time role in the Purchasing Department.

Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday, 9:00am - 5:00pm. Friday, 09.00 - 2:00pm (protected off-the-job apprenticeship training time is included within the working week).
