Gas Engineer Level 3 Apprenticeship

Assist qualified engineers with domestic gas, heating and plumbing work Help prepare tools, materials and work areas for each job Travel to customer homes with the supervising engineer Observe and assist with boiler, fire, cooker, water heater and heating system work Help with pipework, radiators, hot and cold water systems and general plumbing tasks Learn how to follow manufacturer instructions and job paperwork Keep work areas clean, tidy and safe Speak politely and professionally with customers Follow health and safety procedures and wear required PPE Attend Ignite Training one day per week and complete apprenticeship training as required, including filling in individual job tracker Ask questions, take feedback and build practical skills under supervision

Training:

The apprentice will receive practical training at work with Housewarmers, working alongside qualified engineers on domestic gas, heating and plumbing jobs. They will also attend Ignite Training Ltd one day per week, expected to be Thursdays, at Ignite Training, 5 Larch Court, Elm Road, West Chirton North Industrial Estate, North Shields, NE29 8SG.



Training Outcome:

After completing the apprenticeship, the aim would be for the apprentice to progress into a qualified domestic gas engineer role, carrying out plumbing, heating, boiler and gas appliance work. There may also be opportunities to develop further skills in areas such as fires, solid fuel, air conditioning and wider domestic heating work as the business grows.



Employer Description:

Housewarmers is a family run plumbing, heating and bathroom company based at our showroom in Sunderland. We work in customers’ homes across Sunderland, South Shields, Durham and the surrounding areas, carrying out boiler, gas, heating, plumbing, bathroom, stove and fireplace work. We are a small, practical team with a focus on reliable service, good workmanship and helping customers feel comfortable in their homes.



Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
